Advent Week 1 – Hope

The first week of Advent is about hope. Consider Colossians 1:26-27, which tells us,  the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints.  To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

As the Advent season begins, we look to God who is our hope. When we do not understand things that happen, we hope in Him. When things fail us, we hope in Him. It is easy to see only darkness this time of year, but there is a great hope because of Christ, born as a baby, a hope that shines bright, untarnished by this world.

At first glance, the purple letters almost look like buildings to me, which adds another layer of the babe in the midst of the world, yet the message and the contrast is beautifully clear.

Conceived in hope. Born to bring us hope. Hope of fulfilled prophecies. Hope of salvation. This reminder on a Christmas ornament would be far better than so many decorations that we now have. Thank you, Sandi!
